Happy Summer, everyone! I'm so
glad to be in the warm part of the year. I just bask in
sunshine and warm temps, in blossoming trees and flowers
scenting every breath of air, in fresh fruits and veggies grown
locally, and digging around in my own garden. It's one of my
favorite times of year, second only to Fall.
I am not a cold weather fan. No
snow-bunnies here.
And June is bringing much
excitement around here!
On sale now:
TWILIGHT PROPHECY
The beginning of the end of my
long running Wings in the Night series, with part two coming
September 20th
On sale June 21st:
VACATION WITH
A VAMPIRE, with Maureen Child and me, from Harlequin Nocturne.
The print version, that is. E-versions go on sale July 1.
And now for something completely
new: I have been holding onto three novels I wrote back in the
nineties for Avon Books. They were my very first foray into
single title, non-category fiction, and they were all
contemporary fantasy romances, well ahead of their time! The
rights reverted to me when the books went out of print, and I've
been sitting on them, unsure what to do with them.
And then, suddenly, my daughter
Jessica, launched a new business as a professional Authors'
Assistant, (something she's been doing for me, informally, most
of her life) and one of the services she wanted to offer was
ebook formatting. I got to be her very first client. And the
first two of those three backlist books have now gone on sale in
every conceivable electronic format, and they look fabulous.
Jessica really is The Author's Life Saver (www.theauthorslifesaver.com).
Just take a look at her work.
These are full length novels of
about 100,000 words each and some work that I'm very proud of.
I'm so glad technology has evolved to the point where authors
have options like this to keep some of their beloved classics
from fading away and being forgotten. I'm very much looking
forward to hearing what my readers think about these stories.
In personal news, I am
volunteering to be locked up for a cause, by the Muscular
Dystrophy Association on July 8th. I'm supposed to raise $1600
bail before that date, and it's not going as easily as I thought
it would. I know everyone's having a bit of a pinch right now.
But imagine feeling that pinch and having a child with a
condition like this crippling disease. I hope everyone will
pitch in with just a few dollars to help send kids with MD to
camp this year and make their lives a bit better. You can
really help me to help them immensely by popping over to my MDA
fund raising page and making a quick donation. Even a few
dollars would be deeply appreciated. Here's the link.

I'm really counting on you
all to help me out here, and I have decided to choose from among
the donors in a random drawing for a special prize from me that
will include some great reading material. The rest is a surprise!
So get clicking!
Meanwhile, folks, you now have
four, and in a few days, five Maggie Shayne stories to fill your
summer. TWILIGHT PROPHECY,
VACATION WITH A VAMPIRE,
FAIRYTALE,
FOREVER ENCHANTED and coming soon
ANNIE'S HERO.
Hope you enjoy them lying on a
sunny beach, basking in bliss!
Until next time,
Maggie
